One of the important choices you will make is the type of decking and coping to go around your new pool. There are a variety of choices to complement your design, budget, and taste. In addition to the popular choices listed below, WaterWorks of Texas is one of the few pool companies that can provide imported, custom or exotic materials for that perfect finishing touch.

A long time favorite of pool owners is the pebble finish. Shown here with a large brick coping, this finish is hard to beat for many applications.

PROS: economical, durable, natural, slip-resistant, and attractive.
CONS: not the most comfortable to walk or sit on, hotter than some finishes, common

Perhaps the most popular type of pool decking is Sundeck. Sundeck stays cooler than plain concrete and is slip-resistant, even when wet. Sundeck comes in various pastel colors. Shown here with brick coping.

PROS: economical, durable, slip-resistant, modern, and attractive.
CONS: can be chipped, harder to hose clean as texture traps dirt.

If you want the natural appearance of flagstone, slate, brick or saltillo tile without the cost, you can create it with patterned deck finishes. These patterns are created in concrete to look like stone, brick and tile. Each individual stone or tile square is hand-colored after the pattern has been created and can be colorized to your personal preference.

PROS: economical, durable, unlimited variety
CONS: it's still concrete

For the true, natural look of flagstone and slate, nothing gives your pool more charm and elegance than authentic stone. Individually cut and hand-laid, flagstone and slate is probably the most beautiful and durable of all pool decking. Shown here is a tightly-fitted flagstone cantilever-edge

PROS: beautiful, durable, natural
CONS: more expensive, more slippery, hot, stains, hard to clean
